About Ubirr Rock Art
Ubirr is one of the most significant Aboriginal rock-art sites on earth. Layers of paintings — some dating back 20,000 years — record everything from extinct megafauna and 'X-ray' fish to the arrival of European ships.
After exploring the galleries with an Indigenous-trained ranger, the easy climb to the Ubirr lookout reveals a 360° panorama over the Nadab floodplain — most magical at sunset, when wallabies graze the plains below.
