Kuranda Scenic Railway
Historic train journey through the rainforest, returning by Skyrail above the canopy.
About Kuranda Scenic Railway
Built in the 1880s through dense rainforest and 15 hand-cut tunnels, the Kuranda Scenic Railway is one of the world's most beautiful train journeys. The historic train climbs from Cairns past Stoney Creek Falls and through the Barron Gorge to the rainforest village of Kuranda.
The signature 'rail-up, fly-down' day pairs the railway one way with Skyrail — a 7.5km cableway gliding above the rainforest canopy on the return.
