Te Puia y géiser Pōhutu
Watch the Southern Hemisphere's largest active geyser erupt up to 30 metres into the air.
About Te Puia & Pōhutu Geyser
Te Puia sits inside the Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley and is home to Pōhutu — the largest active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere, which erupts up to 20 times a day, reaching heights of 30 metres.
Beyond the geyser, the site is also home to the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, where master carvers and weavers train the next generation. It is one of the few places on earth where you can watch this living tradition first-hand.
