    Tailored to You

    Special Interests We Cater To

We cater to the special interests of every group we encounter and are happy to prepare tours to include any diversion, such as:

    Itinerary Planning

Because of our time in the industry and our real understanding of what travellers want when they visit our locations, we consider each group's type, market, makeup, special interests, requirements and budget when we develop each itinerary. Our experience with overseas agents from numerous markets informs our itineraries as much as our consideration of travellers' requests. We anticipate needs ahead of time and take pride in ensuring smooth experiences that exceed expectations. We don't do one size fits all: every itinerary is unique, and is agreed upon before travel starts, though we are flexible enough to make adjustments and allow for changes once travellers arrive.

    Accommodation

Mercury Pacific is able to arrange suitable accommodation for any budget, from youth hostels and farm stays to comfortable hotels and luxury lodges. We are familiar with all of our accommodations and can meet each particular group's needs. We will happily consult with you about your clients' budget, amenity, and star rating expectations and provide a package that suits.

    Transport

We arrange late model, high quality (3, 4, and 5 star) tourist coaches in sizes to suit each group (12–60 seats), and a luxury level to suit each budget without compromising comfort and safety. We also arrange self-drive vans to suit groups of less than 12. We keep in touch with guides and drivers as tours progress and also provide 24-hour emergency assistance to travellers who opt for self-drive options.

    Guides

Each of our tours can be accompanied by friendly local guides who are experienced in working with groups, catering to their interests and allowing for diversions. We are able to match appropriate guides to groups to guarantee bespoke tours for those who chose this option. We can also provide drivers who are experienced guides for more budget-conscious tours.

    Sightseeing & Attractions

Our local contacts are the best in the business, from tour guides and drivers to accommodation providers and we trust them to show our travellers the best our locations have to offer. Our own travel experiences and our inside knowledge of the industry ensure we create innovative, one of a kind tours which include the attractions people want to visit as well as the out of the ordinary places that make a trip unique.

    24 Hour Emergency Assistance

We are on-call all day, every day, to assist with emergencies, give advice, contact service providers, adjust arrangements and do whatever is needed for each tour to meet all expectations. When your clients arrive, we treat them as our guests. It is our pleasure to look after them and give them extra attention.

What a Mercury Pacific ground package includes

As an inbound DMC and ground handler based in Christchurch, New Zealand, we work only with the travel trade: travel agents, wholesalers, cruise lines and corporate planners. Your clients book with you; we deliver everything on the ground in New Zealand and Australia. A typical group package combines meet-and-greet on arrival, airport and hotel transfers, touring coaches sized to the group, professional local guides or driver-guides, hotel and lodge accommodation, sightseeing entries, group meals and activities.

Every programme is supported by our operations team 24/7 while the group is travelling. If a flight is delayed, a road closes or a client falls ill, there is one number to call and a team that already knows the itinerary. We quote on net rates so you can add your own margin and present the programme under your brand.

How we quote a group brief

Send us the essentials: travel dates or month, approximate group size, the market and language of your travellers, the regions or highlights they want to see, the accommodation standard and any special interests, dietary or religious requirements. We reply with a day-by-day itinerary and a costed net-rate proposal. Revisions are part of the process — we adjust routing, hotels and inclusions until the programme fits your budget and your clients' expectations.

Once you confirm, we secure hotels, coaches, guides and attractions, issue final documents and a rooming list template, and keep you updated on any supplier changes before departure.

Group sizes, lead times and regions

We handle groups from 6 to 600 travellers: small special-interest groups in a minibus or self-drive vans, standard coach groups of 12 to 60 seats, and larger multi-coach series and conference programmes. For peak-season travel (December to March in New Zealand and Australia) and for large groups, we recommend briefing us as early as possible so we can hold the best hotels and coach capacity; shorter lead times are often possible outside peak periods.

Our programmes cover both islands of New Zealand — from the Bay of Islands, Rotorua and Taupō in the north to Christchurch, Kaikōura, Mount Cook, Queenstown, Milford Sound and the West Coast in the south — and Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Adelaide, the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru and Darwin. Many groups combine both countries in one itinerary, and we manage the full journey.
