Cradle Mountain
Iconic Dove Lake circuit walk beneath the jagged dolerite spires of Cradle Mountain.
About Cradle Mountain
Cradle Mountain is the iconic image of Tasmania — a jagged dolerite peak rising above the still waters of Dove Lake, set in a UNESCO World Heritage wilderness of buttongrass plains, rainforest pockets and alpine tarns.
The 6km Dove Lake Circuit is one of Australia's great short walks — easy, level and entirely on boardwalk, with the famous Cradle reflection visible from start to finish.
