Tamaki Māori Village
Authentic evening experience with welcome ceremony, cultural performance and traditional hāngī.
About Tamaki Māori Village
Tamaki Māori Village is the most awarded indigenous tourism experience in the country. The evening begins with a traditional pōwhiri (welcome ceremony) and unfolds through a recreated pre-European Māori village deep in the forest.
After the cultural performance — featuring haka, waiata, poi and weaponry — guests share a traditional hāngī feast: meat and vegetables cooked for hours in the earth using geothermal heat.
